Youth grading is an important component of football at Pukekohe A.F.C. We aim to select a team of the best players in each grade from 11th grade up, along with more equal teams to complete each grade.
Grading enables us to identify our talented players coming up through the club, to see improvement in players each year and assists us with Division placements for each team.
Who must attend?
Grading is for Boys Teams Only, unless there are enough girls for 2 or more teams in any grade. Girls who wish to play in mixed teams need to attend grading to be placed in a team.
While Grading is not compulsory, players who wish to be selected for the top team in any grade need to attend both sessions if possible. Please contact Tony Wisnewski if you have any concerns regarding grading times and dates.

Important Information for 11th Grade and 12th Grade 2008
Auckland Football Federation has made a decision to have all 11th grade teams and
12th grade Girls teams playing 7 aside football on half size (of a full field) pitches in 2008.
This means that team squads will have 10 players in each team in these grades, rather than 14 as per 11 aside teams.
11th grade boys teams will be selected this way at grading, while the girls teams will be organised as such depending on the numbers of girls registered who wish to play girls only football.
The idea behind the smaller numbers on a smaller fields at this level is simply to have less players on the field in the hope that they get more time with the ball to develop as players.
Other Grading Info
· Grades from 12th to 17th will be graded based on the teams they were in for the previous season. It is expected that teams may be similar, with changes as necessary.
· 11th grade will be graded based on the best players making one team, as it is the first year these players will take part in the grading process. The rest will make up as many teams as needed.
· Players will be viewed twice, and teams will be confirmed 1 week after the final grading session.
· A Player may trial for the grade higher than their age if:
o The grade above needs more players to make appropriate numbered
teams and
o The grade they are currently in has enough players without them
· Players who trial up a grade, but do not make the top team in that grade, will not be able to go back down to the top team in the grade below once they have made the decision to trial in that grade. (They may end up in the 2nd team of the higher grade)
