Week 2 of the du Maurier UK tour took us to The Stadium of Light, to see yet another "Title Chaser v Relegation Fodder" clash.
My mate Rob who got us the tickets said "You'll enjoy it, you're right next to the Man Utd fans"....he wasn't wrong....3 yards away from the Red Army, separated by a cop sitting down without a care in the world...

Anna and I have lived in many places.....Tooting, East Coker, Milnrow, Papanui to name but a few....none of them come remotely close to the fantastic community that is Pukekohe.

Counties Cup last 16....away to Manurewa 6th Div, who were younger, fitter and gnarly.
Pukekohe O'35s....average age 43...aching from yesterdays excursions and scratching around for players....throw in a referee whose decision making, makes Robert Mugabe look inspired....the odds were stacked against us.

On the day that the Mens 1st team gained a well deserved 1 - 0 victory at Papakura, the Pools Panel were in full swing after 16 metres of rain this week in Auckland.
Their decision to award an away win for the Over 35's busted many a coupon, with most punters banking on a score draw.
The attention now turns to the Euro 2008 final between Germany and Spain. In the absence of any match material, I've tried to have a bit of fun with a finalists flavour.
