Well, ladies and gentlemen, not too much to say about Saturday’s game. We had 3 attempts on goal, 1 on target and only won 2 corners. Nik Viljoen demonstrated all the qualities that made him an All White and proceeded pull our game plan to pieces. The highlight of the game was a stunning header by Robbie Leonard directed into the top left corner of the goal from a sublime Jason Paranihi cross.

On 60 minutes we were 5.1 down and then suffered further woe. Robbie got caught on the knee by Fencibles midfielder with his studs locked in the ground. The subsequent ‘pop’ clearly indicated a stretcher and ambulance and signalled cruciate ligament damage. With all our subs used the last 25 minutes were about damage limitation with 10 men, sadly Fencibles calmly used this advantage and knocked 4 more.
The last two games have once again highlighted how much work we have to do for next season. We now have one game left on Saturday 6th September (home game against Waiuku). Thank you to our small and loyal band of supporters and your help with Robbie on the day. We all wish you well Robbie and hope you have a swift recovery.

Team: - Jamie Clarke, Ben Johnstone, Dave Allan, Jason Paranihi, Brad Frost, Joseph Morris, Duncan Moxon (Andy Bond, 60), Robbie Leonard, Andy Hey, Keegan Saville, Scott Kerr (Josh Wright, 46)

Man of the Match: Dave Allan – a solid performance in very difficult circumstances
