It could have been a game we missed for lots of reasons 1. I didnt know we had a game untill lunchtime on Saturday (A note to new coaches that if you have knockout round there is a seperate pain on the AFF website you need to find) 2. I may have over indulged at Lee's 40th last night ( I cant believe that no one stopped me on sing star) 3. My super cheap cell phone form VODAFONE isnt sending all my txt message's. That aside I got to the park at 10:30 with a 11: kick off, and coped an ear full from Amy Wild about getting to the park on time.
No time for warm up or team talk today. Papakura started with 10 but soon had a reserve in form of Sally Smith (Puke AFC) 8 min in to the first half we were 2 up thanks to Tracey Kingi's, who very sadly wont be with us nest season, brilliant running up the right flank. Half time we were up 4 nil and I was starting feel almost human. The best thing of all was that Margurite Cook got a goal with and her after goal celebration was worthy of a Emmy and the goal was simply brillant as well.
At half time I said that I will make some changes half way into the second half and just keep it up you are doing really really really really really really well.
Second half
20 min in I made a change that would either work or sink us like a stone, I took Tracey M out of goal and put Charlie Baptist in goal, about the same time Tracey K slotted her 4th goal away. For the last 5min a thought I would really go out on a limb and put Tracey M and Sonja Abbot as our stikers, if anything it would be very entertaining.
A special thank you to Happy for refereing our game and the our supporters.
Final score 7 nil our player of the day was Margurite Cook.
On to the next knockout game where ever it is, I am way for work this week so Tracey will do the training and Shorty will come and help as well.
Our aim is to win this knock out round and this was the best start we could wish for.
