Papatoetoe Lautoka PP Pukekohe Over 35's
By Lee Du Maurier @ 6:56 p.m. :: 151 Views :: 4 Comments :: :: Senior Mens Teams

Both Spain and Germany have a long history of giving their football stars nicknames.

Franz Beckenbauer was The Kaiser, Gerd Muller was the Bomber and they christened Kevin Keegan "Mighty Mouse" (I'm sure he prefers The Messiah!)

Meanwhile, the Spanish have enjoyed Butrgueno (The Vulture), Raul (The Seven) and David Beckham (El Goldo Bolloco's)

Courtesy of babelfish.yahoo.com (you'll need to utilise to reference) the Mens Over 35's have been been allocated similar nickname status. All names given are either German or Spanish.

Andre Van Lieshout - Manos seguras cuando es sobrio

Phil Taylor - Das Segelflugzeug

Mark Harvey - Fester Verteidiger

Neil Dolman - El sin pelo con una barba

Tony Davidson - El asesino sonriente

John Keen - Der flinke felsen

Liam Moorhouse - El candado

Gavin McKenzie - Sr. confiable

Daryl Wilson - Herr Praktisch (this one gets lost in translation!)

Peter Clark - El Liso

Steve Fabrello - El Ruidoso

Dave Bernard - El jengibre de la energia

Roy Cook - Der Stier

George Milloy - El corto con el corazon grande

Wayne Roach - Das ruhige

Russell Whiter - El hombre feliz

Lee du Maurier - El bastardo gordo perezoso

Andy Davey - La maravilla intemporal

Andy Finlayson - Der unglaubliche schrumpfend mann

Finally, a huge WELL DONE to Dave, Steve, Tommy and the first team on their success today in trying conditions at Mclennan Park....well deserved....savour the moment fella's!

Well, I'm better at French but here goes:

Trabajo excelente Lee. Muy divertido. Buena suerte al O35s para el fin de semana

Hopefully you all survived from your day out in the monsoon at Papakura on Saturday. Thanks to all the O35 lads who turned up to support the 1sts, it was hugely appreciated.

Thought I heard a familiar voice while I was watching the Warriors game Jimmy! ;o)
