We will have a shorted training on wednesday because of photos
Now to the game- when I got up this morning and saw the conditions of our own grounds I really thought that we would be in for our first cancelld game......but no we were all go. We still have a few unable to play so we headed to the ground for a 12:30 kick off only to have Odeissa pull out at the last moment, and putting us down to 2 reserves.OH WELL we have had worse.
The ground look to be in suprisingly good nik but looks are deceiving, the ground was glugy to say the least, 3 players arrived with seconds to go Sally,Shadae and Tiana.
Our iron maidens started very well and looked to be on top of Onehunga/Mangare. A hand ball in the box saw Tracey facing her first direct of the season ....did it go in? I will tell you later. Our defenece was streached but Shadae managed to clean up the mistakes again and again lucky for us. At half time we thought we were really in with a real chance and didnt change to much. Half time also saw me ref my first game for a very long time which does make it hard to organise the Maidens. However I need the exersise.
The second half saw Onehunga slot an early goal which came from a huge hole on the backs that had been there most of the game, that got the Maidens going, and they really got on with the job form then on. Tracey had a shot that the keeper saved to which she apparently took over the goal line which I couldnt see, When I asked to her be honest and tell me if the ball went over the line she replied no, but after the game that was apparently not the case. You can only see, what you can only see.
Final score 1 nil to Onehunga and yes Tracey did save that direct.
Player of the day was Sharon McGinty, but well done to you all for your composer in a testing game. We also farewell TK for a few weeks.
