Heading to the game with Tracey Kingi's voice still echoing trough my head " maybe we should do......................... Blair Blair are you still listening?
I was unsure of what to expect at Madills Farm.....top the table, A couple of new players, A changed field pattern, was the field marked this time etc etc. Amy was back, Sharon was back, Tracey Kingi was pumped,Odiessa was............ well she's just Odiessa.
Before the game I told the ladies that I would changed the line up to a 4 - 4 - 2 formation which made Margurite probibly the happiest person in the world. After a settling down period and some position changes on the field the team settled down well and were playing some really good football....you know the looking and passing thing. Eastern Suburbs got on the board first against the run of play and I thought OH NO here we go. But that was the one and only goal they got for the game. We returned the favour via Tracey Kingi with a beautiful cross from outside the box that their keeper had no chance of saving, and a second attempt by Jillian that was oh so close. One all before half time, yeh I was happy.
At half time I told them just to hold the ball a bit more and go for the huge gap down the left, but Eastern Suburbs came out fighting and we really had to work hard to stave them of any more goals, there were some brilliant saves from Tracey Mason in goal (I tought her everything she knows) diving, punching the ball and snatching the ball when East's were sure they were away, they had 19 shots on goal.
The Final score 1 - 1
A very impressive game and no-doubt a few bumps and bruises, you all played you guts out and really deserved a win, not a draw, but thats Football
POD was Tracey Mason and our Goal Scorer was Tracey KIngi - players of note THE WHOLE TEAM.
