Well what can I say "Like the ANZACS we gave it our all, we fought the war but didn't win the battle"
For the first time in many years our team were there one time, which showed how keen they were to get on the pitch and show Eastern Suburbs just what we are made off.
The team talk before the game was a first as well and we even had the begining's of a game plan, and all were keen. I made a few changes to the line mainly due to the fact that East's were top of the table and us in 3 place.
As the game progresed the silence was broken buy a Scottish Highland Maiden awaking the dardinels with song...come scottish haka. Before we knew it they were up 2 nil.
At half time the talk was the same as before, interms of what we needed to do, and to the whole team's credit that was exactly what happened.
I could not have asked for more as ever single player gave 100% and no goals were conceeded in the second half. To give you some idea East's has 1 shot at goal in the second half and we had 2 so the game was most certinaly played in the halves.
Our player of the day was Tracey Mason who had been up since 3am with the mother of all tooth ache's and still played her guts out on the feild, and in the goal for the last 20 mins. She looks pretty good too.
Well done Maidens.
