On the morning of 12th July 2010, news of Hank Lieshouts passing emerged. Hank, a foundation member of Pukekohe Association Football Club, respected player, coach, referee, Life Member and Patron will be sadly missed. Widely renowned within the building industry for setting standards of the highest quality and workmanship, one construction that both Hank and Nellie have had a major role in building over the last 50 years is that of Pukekohe Association Football Club Inc. Looking back through the records, the Lieshout name has featured regularly with Hank and Nellie leading from the front and by example on many occasions.
The positive result of time, effort and energy given to the club over the years is evident every Saturday and Sunday. Teams playing at Bledisloe Park, Rosa Birch Park and other parks scattered throughout the greater Auckland area. Without the level of involvement and influence Hank had given, football in Pukekohe today could be very much in the minority.
To Nellie, Michael and Raewyn, Patricia and Trevor Roberts, Jacqueline and Andrew Fleming, Gerard and Joanne, Gregory and Heather, and loved Poppa of Cherie, Julie, Jeffrey; Marischka, Matthew, Nikita, Ekaterina; Amie, Jessica; Hannah, Harry, Odette; William, Thomas, Monte, and George, Pukekohe Association Football Club Inc. extend our deepest sympathy and share in your grief but will live on and go forward with Hanks memory.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St.Patrick's New Catholic Church, Seddon Street, Pukekohe at 2pm on Monday July 19, 2010 followed by interment in the Catholic Cemetery.
