COACHING DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
Modern football coaching today is player centred, has four core distinct aspects, and uses teaching games for understanding.
If you are going to Coach, Manage, or simply have an interest as a concerned parent in the what, how, and why, of your child’s coaching then you will want to be at the Club at 11am (note change in time) on 7th March to hear all about it.
AFF’s Jeff Mitchell a highly respected Coach, Coach Mentor, and AFF Talent Development Manager will introduce the AFF coaching programme to the Club. New Zealand coaching pathway. This programme is free.
This year coaches from 7th to under 17th grade who attend the Club coaching development meetings will be provided with an age appropriate Coaching Manual that includes the how, why and the what, namely 20 training sessions tailored to players development over a season.
Your worries about what and how to coach will be over.
On Sunday 14 March AFF Director of Coaching, former ALL White, and professional Sean Douglas will introduce the concept of small sided games and the recommended AFF programme to the club. Again the and why and how will be discussed.
On Sunday 21 March NZF’ Coach Educator Manager Aaron Macfarland recently a, Coach of NZ Under 17 Boys at the World Cup, will run a Coach qualifying course ‘Small Whites”. Attendees on this course will receive the first Coaching qualification on the New Zealand coaching pathway. This programme is free.
You do not need to have played or know a lot about football to successfully contribute to the coaching at a midget or junior level in the club. So don’t be anxious get involved .You will down watching your champion anyway. Take the next step and coach you will find it rewarding and fun.
The club will hold a Level 1 course once we have identified sufficient interested Coachs. This is a must not miss for Coaches who wish to coach 11 years and upwards.
Our objective is to ensure every Coach is qualified to improve the development of all players and by so doing properly support the volunteers who give up their time to coach.
A Club Coach’s forum is also proposed depending on interest.
