Ever been to a prize-giving where, when you get on the stage the MC tells the audience just before it’s your turn that: "[...]we run behind a bit but there are only two teams to come {…}" you then realise that

 a) there’s a constant flow of newcomers shuffling into the venue for the next age group’s prize giving

 and

 b) you read in the faces of the audience in front of you the unmistakable expression of “Ooooooh Pleeeeaaaahse, SHORT & SWEET…”?!
