The game started well for Pukekohe and had a couple of chances early on to go ahead. Before we talk about the football itself, well done Waiuku for organising the weather, the fields, the beer, chips and hospitality to make another memorable family day to start another season.

Hopefully Tom, Steve or Dave will supply the official write up for the First team's 2 nil loss to the blues, but from what I saw the match was decided by two judgement calls and two typical strikes from the master predator himself. The "No surrender", all football attitude of the 10 man Pukekohe team will stand them in good stead for the season, but they must learn how to win too.

Well done to the Ladies First and Reserves, the Mens Reserves and Third team for helping the club to a 5 - 1 game victory to retain the Finlayson Derby Day Cup. As for the Over 35's, I'll do my best with a write up, but don't expect a Du Maurier classic. I am not worthy...
