Last Saturday the Old boys 2 eventually played Papatoetoe in what we all thought was to be the last game of the season. After a bruising and tense 2.1 over the Bula Boys the previous Saturday, the Old boys2 were up for the trip to Omana Park.

It was one of those days that you thought the football would have been called off and as we ran out onto the Lightbody Reserve I heard a few of the English boys saying ‘what’s wrong with you, just like playing in a UK winter’. The Old boy’s 2 had the bare 12 for the trip to Tuakau and were keen to put together a better performance than the 4.2 home defeat. However the conditions were going to have major say in the outcome….

Pukekohe Association Football Club Inc. have booked through Auckland Football Federation a date to host a Club Based Referee Course.  The course will be run over two nights and after successfully completing it, you will be a registered Club Based Referee.  You will be given an official Club Based Referee shirt and a registration id. The last time the Old boy’s 2 met the Western Springs Reefers it was a match full of drama – excellent goal keeping, missed opportunities and missed penalties. Things ended up 0.0 with Springs feeling they should have had the 3 points. So this time round we knew things would be tight….
