Men pipped at Fencibles, women move on

The men's first team were beaten 3-2 at Fencibles on Saturday while the women's first team earned a home tie with Waiuku in the quarter-finals of the Soccer2 Women's Knockout Cup.

After holding a 2-1 lead, the Maroon men were run down by Fencibles in Pukekohe's final fixture before Saturday night's Counties Manukau Cup final meeting with Waiuku at Murdoch Park.

The result leaves the team in eighth place in the 12-team Super Division with just the home league match against Bay Olympic on September 8 remaining.

Meanwhile, the women's first team advanced to the last eight of their cup competition by taking a resounding 8-0 win over division four Onehunga Mangere.
