The ladies' first team kept their second straight clean-sheet on Sunday with a 3-0 win over Mt Albert Ponsonby at Bledisloe Park.
The win gave the ladies six points - and seven goals - from their last two outings following a 4-0 win over Onehunga Sports the previous weekend.
The three-goal victory lifts the Maroons' goal total for the year to 28 having conceded just 12 goals in 16 games (excluding the match against Eastern Suburbs Premier League side).
Sunday's win came courtesy of goals from Alice Birch, Sarah Holmes and Denise Edmonds.
After a flat start, the Maroons stepped up a gear and were promptly rewarded when after stretching the Mt Albert defense on the right, the ball was cut back to Ally who fired a powerful first-time effort from 25 yards that the keeper could not hold.
Cue big smiles from Ally and her teammates as the ball nestled in the net for her first goal of the season.
For the rest of the 20 minutes until halftime Pukekohe were dominant and by the time Jim Hey had blown his whistle at the break, the Maroons had increased their lead through Sarah's second strike in two games.
The second spell was much the same as the first with Pukekohe looking lively on the ball and creating the better openings and it was another neat pass on the edge of the area that provided the last goal of the match.
With Nicole in possession on the edge of the area and about to be closed down, the Pukekohe midfielder expertly squared the ball to Denise who fired home from 18 yards for her 12th goal of the year.
The entire team played well but special mentions should go to Ally, who stepped brilliantly into the big shoes of skipper Leanne Dodd in central midfield and Lana Morris, who had another fine game at the back but this time as captain of the side.
Sarah Holmes was player of the day after a terrific performance where she was a constant menace to the visitors' defence.
The ladies are still well within reach of second spot in the division and face a crunch trip to Crum Park on Sunday to meet Bay Olympic who currently sit in second place.
