Women's firsts beaten by Three Kings

The women's first team eventually fell 7-0 to Three Kings United's AFF Women's Division 1 side on Sunday at Keith Hay Park.

The Maroons, up against a side needing eight goals to secure the league title, put in a quality first half showing in possession that - with a touch of luck - would have had them at least level but for two mistakes in their defensive third giving the home side their 2-0 edge at halftime.

The second half produced a different story with the home side dominating possession and territory as they went very close to getting the number of goals needed to claim the title over Lynn-Avon United AFC.

Player of the day went to 12-year-old Olivia Willetts who caused constant problems down the Three Kings left flank in the opening 45 minutes while Laura Johnstone did a fine job deputising in goal for the visitors.

The team's next outing is in the AFF Women's Knockout Cup against Lynn-Avon United AFC at home on Sunday. Kickoff 11am.

Details:
