The men's first team were handed a football lesson by Ellerslie AFC on Saturday in the Lotto NRFL Division 1 match at Pukekohe High School.
The visitors were on top from the moment they went ahead from the penalty spot in the 11th minute via Nathan Palmer.
Ellerslie were far too strong for the home side on the day with Palmer going on to score four of the visitors nine goals, Warrick Hart three and Thomas Algie and Isaac Dickerson each hitting home once.
Much of their good work came via central midfielder Sam Ritchie's distribution into wide areas and a stretched Pukekohe defense couldn't recover.
The only comfort the Maroons can take from Saturday's showing is that Tauranga City United AFC were beaten by a similar scoreline (8-0) by Ellerslie in recent weeks.
Player of the day went to teenage central midfielder Jethro Conway as he did his best to stem the tide.
Pukekohe's next outing is Saturday's trip to Anderson Park to meet Mt Albert-Ponsonby AFC. Kickoff 2.45pm.
