Mens 4th Team v Drury

This weekend saw us at home against a very experienced Drury side looking to follow up on our good performance from last week.  The match was closely contested by both teams with good football played by both sides.  A goal in each half was enough to give Drury the victory, but the Puke players made them work very hard for it.

Great effort yet again by everyone wearing a maroon shirt.  Player of the Day was Sven Ludert, whose hard work and committed approach really characterised that of the whole team.  Thanks to both Mike and Glenn for officiating this week, much appreciated as always.

Post-match analysis: I’m sure a lot of the Puke players felt that the performance may not have been up to last week’s standards, but having watched most of the game from the sideline let me assure you that this was definitely not the case.  The only difference between last week and this was in the quality of the opposition, who made us battle for every ball and did well to contain us going forward.

No shame in the result this week fellas, it was another very good performance which will stand us in good stead for the upcoming matches against Ellerslie ATSC and Waiuku.  Let’s see if we can take all 6 points from those games!

Team: Blair Mason, Matt Stewart, Martin Bennett (capt), Jason Harneiss, Donald Fleming, Cameron Stevens, Ezra Leffalaar, Roly McKenzie, Shane Harneiss, Craig Upson, Pete Wild, Sven Ludert, Julian Smith, Dave Wadeley

Goalscorers:

Final Score: Pukekohe 0 - Drury 2

Next Fixture: Away v Ellerslie, Saturday 30th May (kick off 2:45pm, Point England)

Yeh Guys, those words from Dave need to be listened to, we played some fantastic football. If we have all players to training we WILL be a side to be feared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
