The Season Starts Here!

You can stop pacing the carpet, twiddling your thumbs and looking for excuses not to go shopping,  because football returns to Pukekohe this Saturday (23rd).

Matamata Swifts will provide the opposition for our Men's 1st and Reserve teams, in their first hit-outs in preparation for the new season. Both games will kick off at 3pm, one game taking place at the High School and one on the Bledisloe training pitch. At the time of writing, it hasn't been decided which team will play on which pitch.

So get down and support your Club this Saturday afternoon.

Sorry Jim! Not fully got into footy season mode yet. The first team won 2-1. We were 1-0 down at half time. Typical Simmo header from corner for equaliser soon after restart. Jamie Pegg tapped in the winner two minutes from the end. Reserves got beat about 5-1 I think, but Tom can tell you more about that.

Sorry Jim!! Reserves went down 5 - 1. 1 - 0 down at half-time, drew level just after the break then were all over them for about 20 minutes but couldn't score. Then the lack of fitness kicked in bigtime! They over-ran us at the death and scored 4 more. We've got a very, very young team this year, only 2 starters on Saturday were in last year's team. Loads to learn but a lot of promising signs, despite the scoreline.
That do ya!! :o)
