Silver Sharks strong in home derby

The 7th grade Silver Sharks played a great game of running football against the Black Boats and came up with a 4-0 win. Players from both teams ran hard all match with the on-field coaches also covering a lot of ground to make sure the players were running in the right direction!

With a sizeable sideline crowd cheering them on both teams gave it their all and everyone came off smiling - this was in large part due to the two coaches and the crowd giving plenty of positive comments and encouragement - good on you parents!

The Silver Sharks under coach Joanne Goulstone are improving each game and best of all are enjoying their Saturday outings. Against the Black Boats everyone gave a 100% effort. Josh Davies hit a hat trick and with player of the day Rebecca Goulstone slotting home a goal the team was very happy with the 4-0 result. Logan Smith had a strong first half in goal with some huge goal kicks and the intensity didn't let up after half time when Callum Millard took the gloves and chased everything and everyone in the box.

Lauren Siemelink was a powerful tackler (lessons from Dad?) and with Hayden Morgan and Felix Hitchener running strongly the Silver Sharks had the Black Boats under pressure. Kate Newson-Adams was so confident that she felt she had time to stop and check that the half way flags had the right field number on them.

Thanks Black Boats for a great match - the score line was flattering with Black Boats striker Alice McCrory hitting several powerful shots into the side netting.

Thanks to Craig Morgan for blowing the whistle and to the supporters from both sides who helped make it a positive football experience.
