Women's firsts two from two

The women's first team sit joint-top top of the AFF Championship division after a 7-1 win at Papakura's McLennan Park Stadium on Sunday.

Rose Kraakman grabbed a hat-trick for Pukekohe, playing in the popular orange and black away strip, while Hayley Smith, Autumn Morgan, Olivia Willetts and Nicole Kraakman also hit the back of the home side's net.

Hayley started things off with a superbly struck left-footed volley 15 minutes into the match before Papakura equalised by pouncing on some sloppy work by the visitors in their own half.

But it was one-way traffic after that point with Pukekohe notching a 5-1 lead by halftime with the girls carving out a raft of chances with some lovely possession football which could not be stopped by the home side. Rose struck three of the five first half goals while Olivia scored the other.

Nicole Kraakman made it six with a free kick early in the second half and Autumn completed the scoring when she slotted home her first goal for the women's first team at the mid-way stage of the second half.

Player of the day honours went to Rose, not only for her goal haul but also the energy of her performance, which on another day could have produced one or two more goals.

Thanks also to the travelling supporters of the team who got value for money with a great team performance!

Pukekohe's next match is against Bay Olympic at Olympic on Sunday - kickoff 12pm.
