Two goals late in the first half to the home side turned the tide at Stanmore Bay Reserve on Saturday.
Chris Smart and Paul Langford gave their side a 2-0 edge in the five minute period before the break and the game was killed off when Pukekohe centre back Ticiano Costa brought down Daniel Cyra in the penalty area as the last man on the hour mark. Costa was sent off and Langford dispatched the resulting penalty.
Hibiscus Coast dominated proceedings from then on as they added goals to substitutes Daniel Bungard and Bjorn Geese as well as Cyra.
Football Ferns coach John Herdman and Langford were at the sharp end of the Hbiscus Coast effort with Marcus Bathan, Jethro Conway and 'keeper Andre van Lieshout standouts for the Pukekohe side.
Pukekohe's next outing is home match against Mangere United on Saturday at Bledisloe Park. Kickoff 2.45pm. NRFL Division 1 Reserve league match at 12.30pm.
