Maroons miss doubleheader chance

Saturday v Tauranga City United AFC

Two goals in quick succession after halftime, one to a former Pukekohe AFC player Paul Bricklebank, were enough for Tauranga City United to open their weekend with a victory on Saturday.

Jordan Culpepper opened the scoring after 47 minutes and Bricklebank doubled the lead two minutes later.

Pukekohe's best was Ticiano Costa in a new role at centre back.

Monday v Western Springs AFC

Bookend strikers to Western Springs' Isaac Callen were enough to see off Pukekohe's challenge at Bledisloe Park on Monday.

Callen gave his side the lead when he pounced on a ball in the Pukekohe penalty area after eight minutes and he did the same in the 79th minute to secure the result.

In between times Pukekohe pushed the visitors hard but couldn't find the goal they needed to get a foothold in the contest.

Left back Jamie Hampton picked up player of the day honours for efforts.

Also in action over the weekend, only on Monday were the NRFL Div 1 Reserve League side who were beaten 4-0 by Western Springs AFC.

Pukekohe might have surely worked hard to get more costumers but i think this is not only way. Keep trying. Good post.
