1989 Revisited? WITH VIDEO by Lee Du Maurier Friday, 4 July 2008 at :: 32 Views :: 1 Comments :: Senior Mens Teams | With the top of the table clash between the O'35s and Ellerslie postponed, to be re-played at he end of the season, will this result in the classic Liverpool v Arsenal end of season finale that spawned the Nick Hornby book and movie "Fever Pitch"?
In a tenuous link and with a view to parents supplying holiday DVD Material, I nominate my "Top Ten" Football Films. | Patience is a virtue…. by Steve Cox Monday, 30 June 2008 at :: 168 Views :: 5 Comments :: Senior Mens Teams | | Patience is the state of endurance under difficult circumstances. Patience also requires discipline, control, attitude and self-belief all of which were displayed by the players on Saturday and necessary in some appalling conditions. Such qualities contributed to a well battled 1.0 victory, our first league win of the season which enabled us to climb off the bottom of the table. | Coaching Clinic with Chris and Neil attracts over 50 youth players by Willy Schoppe Sunday, 29 June 2008 at :: 141 Views :: 9 Comments :: Youth Teams | It's always a brand new road
Dodgin' the same old stones
Coverin' the same old ground
And what goes around is surely gonna come around
(JMayall)

You could be forgiven for feeling the blues after what seemed like an eternity of rain. Bledisloe Park didn’t oblige on this Sunday morning, in its water logged ugliness it was not going to be the venue for the much anticipated coaching clinic with Messieurs Milicich, Emblen and Robertson. Instead the Basketball courts at the Pukekohe Recreational Centre, thanks to the quick thinking of Mr –President- Wild, turned into the stage for 50odd enthusiastic participants.
| Frustration continues for women's first team by Steve Upfold Monday, 23 June 2008 at :: 95 Views :: 0 Comments :: Senior Ladies Teams | The women's first team fell to a frustrating 2-0 defeat at Papakura City FC on Sunday.
Here's a quick look at what transpired at McLennan Park. | 4th Team v Western Springs by Dave Wadeley Sunday, 22 June 2008 at :: 73 Views :: 2 Comments :: Senior Mens Teams | Click through to view this week's match report versus Western Springs ... | Red Devilz’s dance with the Samba Eagles by Willy Schoppe Sunday, 22 June 2008 at :: 82 Views :: 2 Comments :: Youth Teams | "When shall we win again?
In thunder, lightning, or in rain?
When the hurly-burly’s done,
When the battle's lost and won.
That will be ere the set of sun.
Where the place?
Upon the heath.
There to meet with them who seethe?
I come, Graymalkin!
Paddock calls.
Anon.
Fair is foul, and foul is fair:
Hover through the fog and filthy air."
[Loosely after WS]
No witches, no witch craft, just some Devilz, plenty of Samba and Eagles, escaping with the spoils.

By VERY popular demand! by Andy Davey Wednesday, 11 June 2008 at :: 58 Views :: 2 Comments :: Website | When looking at our Google Analytics statistics I noticed something strange. Our third most popular search phrase used to find the website was "Caramel Slice"!!!
That's right, after "pukekohe" and "pukekohe afc", 12% of people who had come to the website through Google had searched for "Caramel Slice" for which the site was ranked 4th in the world.
I tested and sure enough it went to Blair and Tracey's June 2006 article called "By popular demand -Tracey's Caramel Slice".As of writing it had been read 1202 times.
This must be the most read article we'd had but I thought I'd check. Click through to see results. |
